Early April 4, 2022 morning, I received a link in our usual viber page posted by Diana. It was a video with something about dementia, about memory loss, I thought … “This is another growing old articles…”
Clicking on the link, it was indeed another growing old song, but in this case, a song in the local Chinese Hok-kian dialect. Interesting… hmmm.
I thought I heard this from Papa or Mama many years ago, but I then realized it was a newer recording made around 2018. The song meaning is very touching, that after several times of replaying the video, I felt the tears in my eyes.
I made my best attempt to translate this into English. Reached out to my friend Godwin for the instrumental rearrangement. And brought this to vocalist Elisa for the wonderful warm vocals rendered. We started working on this on April 6, and in less than a week, a complete song was recorded!
