Solvang Tour 2013

We left Arcadia with 2 Odyssey Vans – Destination Lompoc – Solvang.
501, 502, 503, 113, Matt and John on the red maroon van, and 506, 129, Moty and Trevin the while van. (We originally have a booking for 5 rooms, which were supposed to have 505 and family with us, but a last minute appointment had 505 cancel the trip.)
By made a quick stopover for at the Oxnard Mall for a quick break. We must have arrived Lompoc, late that Friday evening, most likely past 8 pm. The hotel, Embassy Suite, is quite old. But we were welcome with food at the reception, Hotdogs, Coffee, softdrinks. When we checked-in, 506’s room had problems with the AC, and since we have 5 rooms, 506 was able to moved to another room with Sally. (The hotel manager – a Pinay, promised to give us 2 rooms for free on our next trip.)
I believe we tried to go for Chinese food that evening, but ended up with Burger King, just across the hotel. After the more 4 hours on the road. Everybody had a good night sleep. I believe we used up 4 rooms. 501/502, 503/113/Matt/John, 506/129, and Moty/Trevin.
The next morning, heading west via Freeway 246 we proceeded to Solvang. Lompoc is 29 miles east of Solvang. Being a Saturday, the downtown was crowded, and I do not think we had Chinese lunch. Mama was of course looking for Chinese food.
After lunch, we walked around Solvang, and we went to the famous Solvang Shoe Store. Mama was enjoying shopping, while Papa was complaining about why did we come to Solvang to shop?
Mama always liked Solvang, perhaps it was for 20-30 years memories in the early 90s, when they went with BayBay, 506 and 505 and Ibin.
In all, it was a fun Saturday, we stopped over an missions church along the way home. We had to leave early trying to beat traffic in the 101 South bottleneck around Santa Barbara and Ventura. Thank God, we arrived safe with lots of pictures and family memories.
