A Season for Everything Under Heaven
TURN, TURN, TURN
July-7, 2018. 503. I woke up to the tune of the Byrds’ song “Turn-Turn-Turn” playing in my mind. Googling found the youtube video that I watched over and over. Very touching, as it always have been for more than four decades. A time to be born, and a time to die. The song (lyrics) took inspirations from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.
Our Lost
A week ago, we lost our Mama Med. It seems like yesterday, when she held my hand and placed a token with “Jerusalem” engraved and the cityscape nicely embossed and said “I brought this from Jerusalem, and I want you to keep this. Take care.” I thought I heard her say “Anak.” I was very touched.” That was 7 months ago…
A Long Day
We started the day early on Nov-5/2017. We walked, hiked, climbed, jogged over the Torrey Pines Hills. Continued further to stroll along the San Diego shores. By nightfall, we completed the visit with a nice full meal at the Texas Roadhouse. What a long day!
Life is wonderful
Some days sad, some days bright. Yet in totality, we can only be thankful to God that each one of us – you and me, were given this precious life, in a long term lease. We cannot choose parents nor can we choose siblings. We cannot even choose sons and daughters. What we have, and what we are given, is what we are. The family — is all we’ve got.
There is a Season for Everything. There is always a time and season under Heaven. For every tear comes laughter. For every hurt, there is healing. For war, there soon will be peace. For every weakness, God gave strength. For every death, is a new baby born. We love you Mama Med. God be with you.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NIV
1There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Turn Turn Turn, by Peter Seeger
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose, under heaven
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time for love, a time for hate
A time for peace, I swear it’s not too late
Life is Worth Living
Some days sad, some days bright. We thank you Lord for your Gift of Life, help us as we help ourselves in making this life really worth living.
A Season for Everything Under Heaven
